The Capture phase involves all processes for creating or capturing information to create a document. Using office applications, such as Word or Excel, to create a document are common ways to capture information electronically.
Another way to capture information electronically is scanning paper documents. Scanned documents can then be processed through OCR (Optical Character Recognition) or forms recognition software to route the information to a business process or a document management system.
